Fusion Expert Group Releases Opinion Paper – Help Shape the EU Fusion Strategy

We are pleased to announce that the Fusion Expert Group (FEG), established by the European Commission in 2024 with the support of EU Member States, has published its first Opinion Paper

This milestone comes after six months of collaborative work and strategic discussions aimed at laying the groundwork for a comprehensive EU Fusion Strategy.

The upcoming strategy, expected as a Commission Communication in late 2025 or early 2026, will focus on key pillars to guide the future commercialisation of fusion energy in Europe.

We invite all members of the GO4FUSION consortium to read the FEG Opinion Paper, now available via the Publications Office of the EU, and share your insights and feedback. Your input is highly valued and will contribute to shaping the EU’s future approach to fusion energy—where feasible and appropriate.
